Getting Ready For Baby
As any parent can attest to, life changes when a new baby joins the family. As first steps, expectant parents may wish to investigate:
- What's required to add the child as dependent on their health plan. Many plans require parents to complete a special application
- Vacation and sick/personal leave, short-term disability benefits, and family leave that may be available from their employers after the child arrives.
- Child-care alternatives and their costs.
- Whether it makes sense to purchase additional life and/or disability insurance coverage
